Grade 8 Drama Video

Love Lines and Drama Sponsors

Each year, friends and family members purchase space in the program to send well-wishes to students in the show. Since we could not produce a program this year, we have included these Love Lines in the MKMS 2020 Yearbook, and we have also linked them here for you to enjoy.

We would like to thank all of our Drama Sponsors, all of those who purchased Program Advertising in the program, and all of the individuals who generously donated the cost of their tickets and/or program ads to help the drama club.

We are happy to announce, thanks to your generosity, that we will be able to continue the MKMS Drama Club in the future, just as soon as it is safe and possible to do so.

Have a wonderful and safe summer!!!

Fondly,
Mrs. Daigle and the MKMS Drama Club Creative Team

End-of-Year Virtual Get-Together!

Our year-end virtual get-together will be this Thursday (6/11) at 2:30 on Google Meets. Click HERE for more information.

We hope to see you there!

The T-Shirts Are In!

The Little Mermaid t-shirts are in and they look great! Congratulations again to Nick Winiarski and Owen Kuca for their awesome design!

We will be distributing the t-shirts at Martin Kellogg on June 2nd and June 4th from 9:00am-12:00pm as part of the school's pick up and drop off event. If you ordered a t-shirt, please follow the directions that Mr. Lambert sent home (enter through the back lot off of Tim Lin, remain in your car, etc.) and pull up to the drama table. Your shirt(s) are bagged and ready for you, and will be brought to your car by a staff member wearing a mask and gloves.  You may pick up your order on either day, regardless of your child's grade level. (For convenience and clarity, please note that orders for siblings have been combined into one bag, and are organized under the homeroom teacher of the older sibling.)

If you cannot come to pick up your order on June 2nd or 4th, or if you have any questions, please contact Nicole Daigle at ndaigle@npsct.org.

Ticket Reimbursement and/or Donation Information
May 13, 2020

Dear Drama Families,

We are sad to announce the cancellation of our ticket sales for The Little Mermaid. If you pre-purchased tickets this year, please read below to understand your options.

You are, of course, able to receive a full refund of your ticket money. However, the Covid-19 crisis has created a difficult financial situation for our drama club; because the school closure occurred just before we started dress rehearsals, we had already spent (or contracted) thousands of dollars in royalties, set-building materials, costumes, sound equipment, theater lighting, and other necessities for the production. During a normal production year, the money we make from our ticket sales is enough to pay our expenses and reserve funds to put toward the following year. However, without ticket money from this year’s show, we will not be able to cover what we have outlaid, and without seed funds, our ability to continue the program is in jeopardy.

For this reason, as an alternative to a refund, we are asking families to consider donating their ticket purchase to the drama club in order to help offset the costs of this year’s production. Converting your ticket purchase into a tax-deductible donation would help us recoup our financial losses and help us continue to offer the valuable experience of drama to Martin Kellogg students in the future.*

This being said, we understand that some families may not be in a position to donate. Please consider what is in the best interest of your family, then choose one of the following options:

  1. Donate Your Full Ticket Purchase to Benefit the Drama Club- For families who are able, we would appreciate it if you would opt to convert your ticket purchase into a tax-deductible donation to the MKMS Drama Club to help us recoup the costs of this year’s production.
  2. Receive a Full Refund- Choosing this option will initiate a full refund of your ticket price. The refund will be credited back to the card you used to purchase the tickets.
  3. Split the Funds (Refund Part of Your Purchase and Donate the Remainder)- If you wish to obtain a refund for part of your ticket purchase, and convert the remainder into a tax-deductible donation to the MKMS Drama Club, choose option #3. Please be sure to specify exactly how many tickets you want refunded, and how many you wish to donate.

ALL TICKET HOLDERS: Please email MKMSDrama@gmail.com with your choice (Option 1, 2, or 3) by Monday, May 18th so that we can process requests in a timely manner. Include the full name of the ticket purchaser, your child’s name (if applicable), the email address you used when you purchased the tickets, and your choice for donation and/or refund.

No matter which option you choose, you have our sincerest appreciation for your patience and consideration. We are grateful to have you as a part of our extended MKMS Drama Club family, and we hope to see you at future productions when it is safe to do so. Until then, thank you for being “Part of Our World”!

Sincerely,
Nicole Daigle (Director)
Dan Grzyb-Daigle (Ticket Coordinator)

Thank you to everyone who signed up for The Little Mermaid Stage Crew!

The Little Mermaid
CAST LIST

We had 96 students audition this year! It was a very hard decision process, but I am confident that we found a good "home" for each of our actors.

Remember that many parts in the musical are bigger than they were in the movie. Wait for Monday's read-through to get a better sense of what each part entails.

Our first rehearsal is Monday, and it is for ALL actors/actresses.

We are so excited about this year's cast! Congratulations to all of the students who auditioned - it takes real bravery to put yourself out there, and you all did a great job.

Love from,
Your Directors
